5. Ted [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Ted comes with a fun premise but inconsistent execution. It mixes clever gags with cheap jokes to offer a tremendously up and down comedic experience. The Blu-ray provides generally good picture and audio along with a fairly useful batch of bonus materials. Ted will probably delight Seth MacFarlane fans but it seems less likely to win over new converts.

6. The Happytime Murders [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A talented cast goes to waste in The Happytime Murders, a tacky enterprise. Instead of wit and cleverness, we get little more than cheap, smutty gags. Starring Melissa McCarthy, Elizabeth Banks. Universal, $34.98, 12/4/2018.

7. Stargirl: The Complete First Season [Blu-Ray] (2020)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Going into Season One of Stargirl, I feared it’d lean so heavily on its ‘Young Adult’ side that it’d become too teeny-bop. Happily, the show balances character drama and superhero action in a largely satisfying manner. Starring Brec Bassigner, Luke Wilson. Warner, $29.98, 9/29/2020.

8. World Trade Center (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: World Trade Center tells a powerful story but diffuses its focus too much. That results in a film that mutes the tale’s impact and renders it less emotional than one might expect. Starring Nicolas Cage, Maggie Gyllenhaal. Paramount, $34.99, 12/12/2006.
